Valentine’s Mantel Linky Party {mantle}

Welcome to the Mantel linky party!  I’m excited to see your vignettes and mantels and equally excited to share mine with you.  I think this mantelscape is my favorite so far!  For Valentine’s Day, I wanted to create something romantic and comforting.  As most of you can testify to, this winter has been ridiculously cold and bleak.  I am so over snow and cold temps and am ready for SPRING!  So this mantel combines my love for hot tea and all things Spring.

Flowering branches are everywhere in the magazines right now and I LOVE them!  You can create your own by following a few simple steps and using things you probably already have on hand. If you missed my tutorial on how I created the flowering branches, please click here.

I love a comforting mug of hot tea in the winter.  To create the cute heart tags and the heart on the plate, I used my Silhouette.  I painted the tag by hand to create a bit more texture.

Few things would sound more romantic to me right now than some songbirds!  Sigh. Spring please come quickly!

My “chalkboard sign” isn’t really a board or chalk at all.  I used a piece of black card stock and cut it to the size of my mirror.  I attached it to the mirror using double sided tape.  The quote was created with my Silhouette and printed on white cardstock.  (And yes, LOL, my “A” in “RAIN” is backwards.  Oops. :)

Since I was going all Springy with this Valentine’s mantel, I decided to add some birds nests on my milk glass candlesticks.  A burlap printed grain sack carries the theme in the background.

This is just a cool pic of my bird nest, so I’m including it!

I placed one of my dollar store birdies on the tip of a branch.  So cute!
The quote on my sign is from Shakespeare and subtly plays on my theme of a Springy Valentine’s.  Hmmm, perhaps I should have changed “rain” to “snow”!

Many forget to carry the theme of their mantels to the hearth.  Don’t forget to soften the edges of your mantel by adding some interest on the floor.  Here, I’ve added a chunky seagrass basket filled with hydrangeas.

And of course, what would a Valentine’s mantel be without a boa?  No mantel of mine for sure!

Okay, so that’s what I’ve been blog-bragging about for the last few days on Twitter.  Now it’s your turn!  Show me your buffet tops, desktops, hutches, and/or mantels.  You don’t just have to have a mantel to join!

Please place this button on your post and link back to my post!

  33. Where You Hang Your Heart says:

  35. Melanie {The Tiny Tudor} says:

Your mantle is so pretty- I really love the heart tags on the teapots, such a sweet touch. Looking forward to seeing all the Valentine's Day inspiration. Thanks for hosting!

  36. You inspire me so much!

I don't have a mantel, but I have a bookcase that I decorate. Unfortunately, it's the same all year (except for Christmas) since I use it as a decoration for my living room (candle, rocks, leaf plate and a pretty table runner).

Maybe I might use my bookcase to decorate each season with.

I don't have much in the way of decorations for each season/holiday (except for Christmas) so I will be doing some dollar store/thrift store finds.

Hmmm…I wonder what I can do for Valentine's. I'll take a look at what your readers (links) have done to get some idea.

  37. Madigan at madiganmade says:

Beautiful! Love your touches of "spring"… I think we all need it this time of year. Thanks so much for hosting! We don't have a mantel, but I added our foyer table that I decorate.

  38. The Decorative Dreamer says:

Ahh! I love the white feathers! So pretty! I guess Valentines just calls for teapots, huh? LOL! I Love your sign (quote) in the middle as well. Your whole mantle is just gorgeous!

  39. Santa Beso by La Donna says:

My daughter's b-day in on V-Day and it's her first. I'm wanting the mantle to look special. I have ideas to glean from now.

  40. You go ladies!! Those are some awesome mantels definitely worth showing off. ;) Ya'll inspire me to dream up a pretty mantel.

  41. Beth, your mantel looks smashing! With a house full of men, I'm not drawn to Valentine's decor that includes lots of pink. Then again, I'm a redhead, so I've never been much on pink anyway; I guess I shouldn't blame it on the boys. Anyway, your mantel is the best of a winter mantel with Valentine's added in for some wonderful holiday interest. Just right!

  42. Finding Home says:

Beth, Thanks so much for your sweet comment, I could not directly respond because I spilled water on my laptop last night!!!!!! I am taking it in today but I am not sure, using the family computer but there is no email set up on this!!! UGGGGh! Great response on the party, have a great day! Laura

    Beth,
Wow, 111 links! That's awesome. Whenever I do linky parties I can't get anyone to join in. I must not be doing something right.

I was thinking we need to get together. If there's a time you might be free drop me an email.

    Beth,

Another beautiful mantel. The faux blackboard idea is brilliant. I find the quote especially comforting today as well as the entire theme as it hints spring will soon be here.

    Have fun at Blissdom.

  54. Thank you so much for hosting the Valentine's Party (as well as all the other great mantle parties!) Yours must highly acclaimed if BHG is stalking them for future inspiration (see Savvy Southern Style). My computer freaked on me and now I have TWO links to this party (154 and 155). I want people to read my blog, but not bad enough to be so redundant! Could you please delete one of them? Thanks!

  55. These are wonderful! I hope this party stays open long enough for me to finish my mantel! Gosh, I'm slow!

  56. Christina says:

Thanks for hosting, Beth!! Better late than never, right? ;) I linked up my "romantic winter vignette"…which is the closest I can get to a mantle! Also…I'm not a pink/red kinda girl…so this was my best compromise :)

  57. Wendy@Once upon a rose haven says:
