I didn't realize just how popular, Beth! They remind me of the wood crates that were around so much when I was growing up. They wound up being used for so many different things, too, and had a similar construction {except smaller in size}.

I think my favorites are the toy boxes (I see a project on the horizon!), the toddler bed (I'll be needing one of those soon!), the wall coverings and the headboard with "love" written on it. Hmmm… apparently I like them all! My husband was just oggling some pallets discarded behind the local nursery the other day. I should have let him grab them!

  44. I love these ideas. We are making tables out of them too. You also can take the wood spool you get for big cables and cut the bottom off and put an umbrella and have an outdoor table. Just make sure you put a sealant on it to keep it looking great.

  45. Christine Mccombs says:

Lots of great ideas! Just remember to check and see if they’ve been treated. You don’t want that in your house! Great for outside things.

  46. Hi Beth!

First, love the post, I am inspired to create some sweet pallety things myself. My problem comes from not being able to find any pallets to work with. Does anyone have some recommendations on where I could buy some? I called a few stores, but no one carries them thus far. I live in Birmingham, AL.

    Thanks!
    Ken

  47. cool! thanks. but you should NEVER USE CHEMICALLY TREATED ones for the garden. It leaches right into your food. yuck!
